Submission Guidelines

  • All work must be original with any sources cited
  • Ideally 1,000-2,000 words but no more than 2,000 words. If you have so much to say that you want to do a series, contact Stacey to discuss it!
  • If it’s been published anywhere besides your own website/blog please let us know at the time of submission
  • Please proof-read and spell check, we will not be making corrections for you. We may not accept your submission if it is not ready to publish. If you are familiar with SEO, SEO friendly articles are appreciated!
  • It should go without saying but please be sure that your article is free from any political or religious content that may offend people with differences of opinion. Articles about spirituality and religion as they impact mental health and mental health treatment are fine but please keep it general so that people of any religion will find them helpful.
  • Submissions should be in a Microsoft Word Doc, Microsoft Office compatible, or PDF format.
  • Please be sure to include a short bio with your name, your discipline (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, PhD, etc.), the email address that you would like to be used for your blog registration, your website if you have one, and a small professional head shot style photo. If you’re feeling stumped see some other contributor bios here.
  • Let us know if you’re interested in submitting more than one article! We are looking for regular contributors as well as one time submissions.
